Attractiveness
After Hysterectomy
There is an increasing understanding that after an hysterectomy many
women suffer from sexual problems as regards their capacity for arousal
and response. In fact the Athena Institute is funding a three to four
year research project at the University of Texas on this subject.
This
research us being funded because gynaecologists in America have used pheromones
from Athena to assist women who have had hysterectomies to improve their
attractiveness. While success has been reported, a serious clinical trial
is needed to confirm the benefits.
The Athena Institute for Women's Wellness in Pennsylvania was founded
by Dr. Winnifred B Cutler, who co-discovered the existence of human pheromones
in 1986. In 1993 Dr. Cutler formulated, tested and started marketing a
pheromone cosmetic fragrance additive for women, and in 1995, an aftershave
additive for men. A double blind, placebo-controlled study on the use
of the additives was published in the "Archives of Sexual Behaviour,
Vol 27, No 1, February 1998".
There are a number of articles on post hysterectomy attractiveness:
